Honor Blackman Dies Aged 94

Notable for her role in Cathy Gale in 1960. She also co-starred “Jason and the Argonauts” in the 1963 mythological fantasy as the goddess Hera.

Her most famous role was as Pussy Galore in 1964’s “Goldfinger.” She made an impression from the start in the movie.

A statement said: “It’s with great sadness that we have to announce the death of Honor Blackman aged 94.

“She died peacefully of natural causes at home in Lewes, Sussex, surrounded by her family.

“She was much loved and will be greatly missed by her two adopted children Barnaby and Lottie, and her four grandchildren Daisy, Oscar, Olive and Toby.

Further, she was born in Plaistow in East London in the year 1925, Blackman trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Bond producing team Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli paid glowing tribute, saying “She was an extraordinary talent and a beloved member of the Bond family.” The Upper Hand co-star Joe McGann tweeted she was a “fiercely bright, superbly funny and a wonderful actress on screen and onstage. I loved every day of working with her and I loved and respected her with all my heart.”

Prof Kate Williams tweets, “I am not sure I like the obits calling #HonorBlackman ‘James Bond’s Pussy Galore’. (Ian) Fleming, hardly the world’s great feminist, made Pussy an independent character heading up an all-female burgling gang. .

Even in the film, she’s pretty tough, never anyone’s possession.” Cultural commentator Dr Matthew Sweet hailed her “cool unassailable pragmatism”.

Blackman is survived by two children and four grandchildren.

Record Disc Sales of Frozen II

It made 201,000 sales on its previous week, 78% of which were on disc, and has now sold 530,300 copies in total. The film appeared as the ninth number on the chart, as part of a two-feature deal with the first film, 2013’s Frozen.

The film has the second biggest digital lunch ever in the UK with 218,700 downloads from its first week positioning it behind ‘Avenger: Endgame’ that had 335,400 downloads in August last year. Further, the film has been gaining popularity lately due to lockdown order.

Frozen II have been dominating home video sales, topping both NPD Video Scan’s First Alert chart, which tracks combined DVD and Blu-ray Disc unit sales, and the dedicated Blu-ray Disc sales chart the week ended March 7.

According to Bob Chapek, Disney’s recently appointed CEO, in a press release; “Frozen 2 has captivated audiences around the world through its powerful themes of perseverance and the importance of family, messages that are incredibly relevant during this time,” said

The coming of Frozen 2 to Disney Plus at a trying time is a chance for Disney to gain additional subscribers.

Other streaming services like Hulu and Netflix which are also owned by Disney are likely to see a boost in time spent watching films as many people stay indoors.

Frozen 2 grossed for 1.4$ globally, setting a new record for an animated movie. It is a favorite title for the Disney Plus subscribers.
