Honour Blackman, the British actress who played the Bond girl Pussy Galore in “Goldfinger,” has died. She was 94. She was daughter of Edith Eliza and Frederick Blackman (a civil service statistician). She attended North Ealing Primary School and Ealing County Grammar School for Girls.

Notable for her role in Cathy Gale in 1960. She also co-starred “Jason and the Argonauts” in the 1963 mythological fantasy as the goddess Hera.
Her most famous role was as Pussy Galore in 1964’s “Goldfinger.” She made an impression from the start in the movie.
A statement said: “It’s with great sadness that we have to announce the death of Honor Blackman aged 94.
“She died peacefully of natural causes at home in Lewes, Sussex, surrounded by her family.
“She was much loved and will be greatly missed by her two adopted children Barnaby and Lottie, and her four grandchildren Daisy, Oscar, Olive and Toby.
Further, she was born in Plaistow in East London in the year 1925, Blackman trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Bond producing team Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli paid glowing tribute, saying “She was an extraordinary talent and a beloved member of the Bond family.” The Upper Hand co-star Joe McGann tweeted she was a “fiercely bright, superbly funny and a wonderful actress on screen and onstage. I loved every day of working with her and I loved and respected her with all my heart.”
Prof Kate Williams tweets, “I am not sure I like the obits calling #HonorBlackman ‘James Bond’s Pussy Galore’. (Ian) Fleming, hardly the world’s great feminist, made Pussy an independent character heading up an all-female burgling gang. .
Even in the film, she’s pretty tough, never anyone’s possession.” Cultural commentator Dr Matthew Sweet hailed her “cool unassailable pragmatism”.
Blackman is survived by two children and four grandchildren.
