According to health secretary Matt Hancock, this COVID-19 testing lab will play a crucial role in beating the coronavirus epidemic. By the end of April, a new digital platform is also under construction that will perform 100,000 tests a day.

From the PCR testing technology, the names of the lab have been taken and to detect the virus it uses fluorescent light. Testing is very important for people suffering from coronavirus, it will check how far the virus has been spread and to diagnose a patient individually. These diagnostic networks will help people to fight this virus.

The spokesperson of the Government mentioned that the website in Milton Keynes is the primary one with the 3 mega labs and it will combine with the new countrywide testing infrastructure, and a few new sites are set up every day to take the samples of the patients.

According to official reports of BBC, less than 300,000 tests have been carried out in the United Kingdom so far. In the United Kingdom, universities are also running tests related to COVID-19.

They both are introducing a method of contact tracing that will use the smartphone’s Bluetooth signals. Contract tracing will alert and identify people that they have come in contact with an infected person and smartphones will determine if anybody has been in contact with an infected person.

Personal data and GPS will not be recorded for anyone. If anyone is tested positive for coronavirus, an alert will be sent to the original handset owner.

According to the European Union’s Data Protection Supervisor reported by BBC, the initiative is very positive, but it will require further analysis and assessment. Countries like Singapore, Poland, and others are also using handsets for issuing alerts related to coronavirus. Public health workers will quarantine everyone that comes in contact with the infected person, therefore, contract tracing is a crucial tool.

This system can log other phones nearby on your phone. An anonymous piece of code, from the phone unique ID, is derived and other phones in range will receive that code and remembers it. The system will scan the code in the log match and detects the IDs in the database and in this manner the person will get an alert on the phone that he or she has been exposed.

Bluetooth LE signals are used by both Apple and Google. The alert will come on the smartphones as you have recently been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.

However, Cuomo also said that the rate of hospitalizations and intensive care admissions in the state continue to slow down.

The Internal Revenue Service has on Saturday night that the first wave of bailout checks had been deposited into Americans’ bank accounts. “We know many people are anxious to get their payments; we’ll continue issuing them as fast as we can,” the IRS said in a tweet.

New York Governor, Andrew Cuomo said the number of coronavirus-related cases across the state “is continuing to flatten.”

According to him, “The number of hospitalizations appears to have hit an apex and the apex appears to be a plateau. Which is what many of the models predicted, that it wasn’t going to be a straight up and straight down,” Cuomo said. “It was straight up, you hit the top number, plateau for a period of time, and that looks like what we are doing. The hospitalization rate is down, and that’s important. We have more people getting infected still. We have more people going into the hospitals, but we have a lower number.”
